Summary: Join Stephanie, a woman who can talk to things that no one else can, as she tries to make a life for herself in San Francisco.
Link: The Athenaeum
Comments: This story is hilarious; absolutely hilarious. It's a satire of uber Xena fanfics. It's also very strange. Stephanie is a former Army sergeant turned bomb diffuser who can hear cars talk (and animals both domesticated and wild). With her best friend Brittanie the Desoto, she travels to San Francisco after leaving the Army to make a new life.

The Journal Entries of Kennet R'Yal Shardik by Elf Sternberg

Rating: AO
Genres: Sci-Fi, Drama, Fantasy, Humor
Length: 300 chapters so far, approx. 2500+ pages.
Warning(s): Lemon, BDSM, Language
Summary: A geneticist named Ken Shardik is approached by an alien entity that gives him the power to create his own world.
Link: The Pendorwright Projects
Comments: This is a story of epic proportions that's been in progress since 1990 and has been updated every year since. Many of the stories contain sex but there are many that do not. Some of the stories are gay-themed, some of them lesbian-themed, and some of them are neither. There's a little bit of everything in here, really. The basic premise of the story is this: a geneticist named Ken creates his own world and his own races of people who come to consider him their "father". It's very interesting to see how the Earthlings (or Terrans, as they're known in this story) deal with a dozen different races of animal-like people with highly-advanced technology. I'm not doing this story any justice with my comments so you'll just have to read it and see for yourself.

Mists of Fate by Dan Kirk

Rating: M
Genres: Sci-Fi, Drama, Fantasy
Length: 35 chapters, approx. 600+ pages.
Warning(s): Violence
Summary: A new race of beings known as the "Shapers" rise to take control of an Earth devestated by the collapse of modern civilization.
Link: Dabeagle's Doghouse
Comments: The United States commits an act of desperation by trying to ruin the oil reserves of a certain Arabic nation. Unfortunately this backfires and ruins every oil reserve on the planet. Earth is thrown back into the Dark Ages since very few things work without oil and most countries are now under martial law.
The pulse that ruined the oil also transformed men who satisfied certain criteria into a new race of beings with extraordinary mental power. They eventually come to be known as the "Shapers", people who magically shape themselves and the world around them to their exact specifications.
